Visio Plan 2 Access Problems

I'm trying to access Visio Plan 2 desktop application on my new PC. I've hundreds of earlier Visio 2010 files I'd like to access/edit. I'm lost. I don't have a work or school account. I think I may have generated 5 Microsoft accounts from various attempts, including mandatory domain name things I don't know how to use, authentication steps, license things. I can't break through to an application download screen. Help!

    Dear JV3383,

    Good day!

Can you help me compare 2010 with one of these? Would I be losing function using "standard"?

I'm not sure what specific features you're referring to, so I can't directly say if they're available in Visio 2024, if you want to compare features between Visio 2024 Pro and standard, You can refer to this document: Compare Visio versions and features - Microsoft Support

Note: When you open a file created with an earlier version of Visio in the new Visio, some features will be disabled for compatibility. Converting the file to the new Visio file format will enable all features. To convert a Visio 2003–2010 drawing to the new file format, on the File menu, click Info, and then click Convert.

Finally, I'd need help untangling all of these duplicate funded accounts. Could you help me with that too?

As a forum moderator, I do not have the authority or resources to assist you with refund issues, etc. In view of your situation, I recommend that you call Microsoft Support, only they have the authority to help you cancel your subscription purchased by mistake:.

Thanks for your quick response. I've spend almost 2 hours with your tech agent in an effort to untangle the Plan 2 download before abandoning (office closed).

I'm not part of an organization with a tech admin (I'm a one deep business) so the idea of an enterprise school or work account for Visio Plan 2 won't work. You are right about the challenges of individual user attempts. I've spent hours. I may have accidentally gotten 3 separate funded accounts, none working. I have gotten through the wickets of a 365 business license, but got axle wrapped trying to access the Visio download. Authentication steps, licensing transfer steps, trying to have an enabling conversation from a Mac, while understanding Plan 2 is only an option on my separate new PC machine (unless I attempt a DOS/MAC emulator?, something I don't want to attempt).

I'm trying to access/edit hundreds of visio files using the older 2010 standard. I noted from this "one time purchase" 2024 Standard option includes a lessor set of tools than the "professional" single purchase option.

Can you help me compare 2010 with one of these? Would I be losing function using "standard"?

Although no longer supported, I do have download disk for Vision 2010, so that may be my only option.

Finally, I'd need help untangling all of these duplicate funded accounts. Could you help me with that too?

Thanks again for your prompt support!

    Dear JV3383,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you

If you want to make Visio Plan 2 a desktop application, you first need to have a subscription to Visio plan 2. Since this subscription is a commercial plan, it requires an administrative user in your organization to purchase and assign the subscription, which I do not recommend for individual users:

I noticed that you mentioned that the previous file was opened through Visio 2010, which is a one-time purchase subscription, so I think Visio 2024 of the same type is more suitable for your situation, Visio 2024 is aimed at individual users, this avoids creating organizational accounts:

Compare Visio Options | Microsoft Visio

If you only want to subscribe with Visio plan 2, you can refer to the following documentation to learn the difference between a work account and a Microsoft account:

What's the difference between a Microsoft account and a work or school account? - Microsoft Support

I look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
