Excel online Changes being backlogged

I took a download of an excel workbook from Onedrive on Monday at 1:30PM, i then archived the online file, made changes to it offline and reuploaded the new file onto onedrive. A colleague pointed out to me that changes they had made on Thursday of the previous week were not showing in the new file that i had uploaded.

I checked the archived file and they were right, the changelog shown that at 1:20pm the previous Thursday they had made changes to the file but somehow the download i had taken the following Monday at 1:30pm did not have these changes, the file i downloaded shown in the "Details" tab of the properties info that the last time that file was saved was 12:18pm on Monday (1hr prior to my downloading it).

Can anyone explain how this happened?

    Hi Andrew F-NAV,

Thank you for posting your question in our community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with Excel online Changes being backlogged and I understand how you feel.

Since the Microsoft community only provides technical support for software and no community members have access to backend server data to assist you in data recovery, I will do my best to answer any strategic and technical questions you have regarding the software.

    Here are some advice.

1.Recommended that you try to restore the version to the corresponding version in the version history of the Excel file, refer to the following link: Restore a previous version of an Excel file - Microsoft Support

    1. Log in to OneDrive on the web to see if the Excel file is stored on the server.

If the above methods don't work, we recommend contacting the OneDrive team Personal Cloud Storage – Microsoft OneDrive for help with data recovery issues.
