Dear DeonHoltzhausen
Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.
I understand that you are encountering the problem that the moving icon of the table in Word is displayed in an abnormal position.
I added the table in Word, but unfortunately, I cannot reproduce your problem:
Therefore, for your situation, I need to confirm some more detailed information with you:
- If you recreate the table in a newly created Word (without editing and adjusting it), can you reproduce the problem?
- During your editing of the table, can you describe the specific operations you performed? For example, did you adjust the relevant settings in the table?
If the newly created Word also has this problem, you can first try to reset Word to restore its default settings.
- Exit all Office programs
- Press Windows key + R at the same time, enter regedit, and press Enter;
- Locate the following key values in sequence, rename the word folder (right-click it and select Rename, for example, rename word to wordold); HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\word HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\word
- Click Start, enter %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates in the search box, and press Enter;
- Back up and delete files with .dotm as the suffix, such as Normal.dotm;
Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it.
If the problem only exists in this document, the table created in the new document will display normally. You can try to copy the contents of the document and paste it in a form that only retains the text, because the problem may have occurred during the setup process.
I hope this is helpful to you and don't hesitate to ask any questions. We are looking forward to hearing from you and will continue to assist you.
Best Regards,
