I have an M365 tenant that I use for testing, and I recently was trying to de-register a domain from it so I could use it in another Azure AD account. This means I had to change my admin account's domain as well. After doing that, I am now unable to log into the M365 tenant or Azure AD portal using either the old or new UPN.
I am just looking to log into the M365 portal so I can delete the tenant/account entirely.

You can sign in with the address you created with the onmicrosoft.com domain.
For example, my account global admin is
******@domainname.com you can connect to it with the name of your tenant (example: letsgo) like this ******@letsgo.onmicrosoft.com

it's embarrassing, you are sure you put the tenant's name in the email and not the domain name which is different ?
I am absolutely sure I put the tenant's name in the email.
