A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Dear respected Eldymarie Tabora Morale,
Greetings! Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community and I am happy to help.
I am sorry that you have a problem and for the situation you encountered, I deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.
Based on your description, it seems like when you tried to launch Word desktop application, it gave the error code 0xc0000142 which prevented you from using it. Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding because I want to make sure I can provide the appropriate support for you to recover the scenario.
As per the official suggestions from: Error 0xC0000142 when you start an Office application - Microsoft Support, I would like to sincerely suggest you give a try with Repair Office if your Word has been updated to the latest version 2502.
I appreciate your understanding that sometimes initial suggestions may not solve the problem very soon. However, we can work together to reduce and resolve the situation. Therefore, please be patience and provide more information back with me so that we can continue working.
- If Word just happened the error recently, may I know if there have any Office update or Windows update?
- If you restart your PC in a new user profile to simulate a fresh environment, if the same error will appear there? Reference: Manage User Accounts in Windows - Microsoft Support (Follow the Add a user account section)
- Could you please share the current Word product information screenshot so I will deploy the same test environment as yours and confirm if it might be a server-side error due to any recent product updates. Reference: About Office: What version of Office am I using? - Microsoft Support
Please correct me if I made any misunderstanding and I will be here waiting for your updates to offer any further support.
Your patience and time are greatly appreciated! Hope you a nice day and stay safe!
Sincerely,
