Hi,

I'm trying to find a way that let met create a summary of a pdf document and places this in a template we have.

Getting the right information from the pdf is not that hard, but copilot is not willing to put this in a file.

What will be a possible approach?

I am trying the exact same thing but no luck. I am providing Copilot M365 (Pro license) with a Word (or PDF) CV document then running a Copilot Agent to extract CV content, apply some editing rules then insert that extract content into a new Word document but applying the company template styles and formatting (which is also provided as input). Copilot is doing an excellent job of extracting the content I want and apply the editing rules but failing to produce a new Word document with the extracted content AND the template styles applied. HELP !!!

    Dear Tom Eering,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I'm glad to be able to assist you.

I understand that you want to use Copilot to summarize the PPT and automatically fill in the content into the template. Unfortunately, your idea may not be realized in Word.

It is important to know that Copilot can draft for blank lines. For lines with existing content, you can only choose to modify these contents. And in Word, Copilot cannot insert content into the document as you want.

But there is an alternative method. You can use Copilot to create or draft in the blank lines on the template, with the content "something in the PPT". You can right-click on the blank line where you want to insert the content, select "Draft with Copilot", and then reference your PDF document. Tell Copilot that you need to summarize it, and then insert the summary content here. If you need, please tell it the format you need. Otherwise, it may disrupt your original format.

See how the above method works. Looking forward to your reply.

    Best Wishes

I am having the same issue. Copilot does not recognize our company template and style in MS Word. And it seems it is a general problem.
