My Transcribe file is too large to save to OneDrive - how can I save to a local drive?

Hi,

I have a Transcribe file that is too large to save to OneDrive. I saw a previous thread that stated there was a 'see more' option on the Transcribe panel, however this isn't the case.

How do I either get to the file and edit it down before saving OR save the transcription to a local drive?

Any quick help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

    Hello LT619DK,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Word's Transcribe feature does have some limitations on the length of audio that can be transcribed and the size of the audio file.

    • Each uploaded audio file is restricted to a maximum of 300MB.
    • Users with a Microsoft 365 subscription can transcribe up to 300 minutes of uploaded audio per month.

If these limits are exceeded, an error may occur, and if it is due to the file size exceeding the limit, it is recommended that you split the audio file into two or more parts on your own before transcribing, and then transcribe them one by one and then cut them together.

If you are referring to the inability to save this file due to insufficient space on OneDrive. It is recommended that you manually clear space from OneDrive and then delete them from the Recycle Bin to make sure that OneDrive has enough space to save it.

If the issue is not resolved, you can share an error message, or a screenshot of the error page so that we can better understand what you are facing, more information would be helpful. We are happy to provide further support.

I wish you all the best!

    Best regards,
