I just purchased Microsoft 365 Business basic and I can't get it to work. It says that I can only use it on the web and mobile app? This is a business account why would it not be a desktop version?

Hello shari cardosa, Good morning! Thank you for your posting to the Microsoft community. We are happy to assist you.

First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to your work. I understand you cannot get your Microsoft 365 Business basic to work on desktop. This is actually a design behavior Microsoft 365 Business Basic plan provides access to the web-based versions of Office apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but it does not include the desktop versions of these apps. This plan is designed for businesses that primarily use cloud-based services and need lightweight, web-accessible versions of Office applications. If you need the desktop versions of these applications, you might want to consider upgrading to Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Business Premium, or Microsoft 365 Apps for business which include both desktop and web versions of the Office apps. For more details, please see the attached article and screenshot Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans | Microsoft.

We are waiting for your response. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,Simbarashe | Community Moderator
