Hi Everyone

I am using DPM to make backups of my VMs

But the following question arises

I have a parent disk for two VMs.
Is it possible to backup the VMs?
Can I perform a granular restore?

I am doing the test and I get the following error:

129591-image.png

As you can see in the picture. the copy path refers to the parent disk and not the child disk

Thanks for the help

Hi @Jorge Martín San José ,

What DPM version are you currently running?

What kind of restore are you attempting to perform? Is your Hyper-V virtual machine backed-up on a host-level or guest-level? If you want to perform item-level recovery (ITL) for virtual machines (recover files, folders, volumes) then you’ll need to install the Hyper-V role on the DPM server.

Also note that DPM does not support item level recovery of a Dynamic Disk within a Guest VM. For this the Guest VM should have a Basic Disk.
