Office 2016 Issues

I keep trying to open one of my documents and when the Word page pops up, a small window pops up and says, "please wait while setup prepares files." Then the box blinks and it says, "Microsoft Office Standard 2016 configuration did not complete successfully." Then, when I close out of the window either by clicking the X or by clicking the close button, the box closes and another window pops up and says, "Microsoft Office can't find your license for this application. A repair attempt was unsuccessful or was canceled. Microsoft Office will now exit." Then, when I close that window, it closes out my document. I can't get it to stop doing this no matter what document I try to open.

I have tried to get in from the Windows start, I have rebooted the computer, tried the repair, which almost finished and then I got the box that says the Configuration didn't complete successfully. I have tried everything that I can think of, and nothing has worked yet. I'm so frustrated. I can't get in and edit any of my documents. Thank you for the reply, though.

Can you start Word from the Windows Start facility.

You may need to repair the Office installation via the Control Panel.
