I've got Microsoft Office for which I pay monthly, Now Im asked to provide a product key, which I do not have as the laptop was bought and given to me as a gift 4 years ago. Frustrating! I only use Excel and Word, and nothing can be saved now, so what can I do. The website takes me round and round without any help. I'm an old age pensioner - I do not need all singing all dancing versions of Microsoft- Office is enough for me, but it looks like all Microsoft is offering is more expensive versions - which I dont need neither can't afford. Anyone able to help!!

Hi James and Inke Milligan ,

    Thanks for visiting Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing issues with activating your Office application.

You mentioned that you pay for Office on a monthly basis, which suggests that you have a Microsoft 365 monthly subscription. This product is directly linked to your Microsoft account and does not include any activation key. You can log in to the account associated with your subscription via a browser at account.microsoft.com/services to check the subscription status and expiration date, ensuring they align with your payment records.

If the above information is accurate, there is no need to purchase any new products. Simply log in to your Microsoft account within the Office application under the "File" and "Account" sections. The application will automatically recognize the subscription linked to your account and activate accordingly.

Should you encounter any issues during this process, please feel free to respond. Providing relevant screenshots would be greatly beneficial in diagnosing the problem more effectively.

    Best Regards,
