I have a licence of Microsoft Office 365 (Familial edition) and I am using it on Windows 10.

I have an excel file that I am the only one who is maintaining it. I do access the same file regularly and it is store on my one drive.

Today when I opened it, some sort of merge where applied and I lost more that one year of modifications in this file!

I don't know what the problem is. This is a one drive issue most likely. I want to get a backup of my file with the last recent change in date of jan 3rd 2025. I should say any files at this date on one-drive but if required I can give you the file name.

This file is important for me. It is not shared with any other users for the my family licence

    Dear Denis Gilbert,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that when you edited the file, it seems that the file version was overwritten, causing the file to lose a year's progress. I understand your feelings.

You can try the steps here to see if it can help you get it back:

    1. Go to the OneDrive web version and try to view and restore your Excel file from the Recycle Bin or Version History. See if you can still find the latest version.
    2. If this is not feasible and you are a Microsoft 365 subscriber, you can choose to undo all operations on the file in the past 30 days and get help from the following thread:

Restore your OneDrive files - Microsoft Support

    1. If you still can't find the file after trying the above steps, it is recommended that you contact OneDrive's support team to help you find the file data in OneDrive's cloud server. They can help you access the data information and view it at a higher level. You can send an email to OneDrive through the following link:https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=528676 Open this link while logged in, and you should see a Send Email window.

We sincerely hope that your files can be recovered.

    Best wishes
