So, with the office 365 subscription I get to use it on up to 5 computers. I want the onedrive to sync 3 of them as mine. I want the other 2 computers to sync together BUT not with the other 3. I have created a folder for just those 2 computers but when i sign in, the other computers desktop folders downloaded onto the other 2. Basically i have 3 computers in the house (one laptop) i use for work and my business. I want THOSE to sync. I want my wife who has 2 laptops to use the onedrive folder i made for her but i only want HER 2 computers to sync together and not with my 3. Under accounts and folder selection MY 3 computers desktop options are grayed out and I cannot unselect them. Does anyone have any advice and did i explain that well at all? Thank you

OK. Thank you. part of this issue is i don't understand why we cannot select WHICH folders on desktop to save from one drive. all of them save. Shouldn't the end users be able to select?

We used to be able to choose which Desktop folders, or Documents, Pictures, Music, or Videos folders, to sync to the computer, but that feature no longer exists.

I also don't want pictures save but that is "required?".

Yes, you must sync all pictures or none of them. There is no way to pick and choose.

Since I get a T of space with my office 365 and 5 PCs i should be able to share that as well......

You cannot share your personal OneDrive space with someone else, but you can give 1TB of space to a family member and share your files with that member. To do that, you must switch to the Microsoft 365 Family plan. Then, each person in the family would get 1TB of space.

It's easy to switch. Just subscribe to the Family plan; any remaining time left on the Personal plan will be added to your new plan.

any clever work arounds? do i just rename my user folder and work off the file explorer rather than desktop folder?

No, don't mess with renaming the user folders.

If you share devices/computers, ensure each person securely signs in using their unique credentials. Do not share accounts on shared devices.

I also don't want pictures save but that is "required?". Seems like we should have more control which items to work on from PC and which to share. My desktop is 38G.

Hi, and welcome to the Microsoft community.

Microsoft accounts are not designed for more than one person, so your wife will have her own separate account with her own OneDrive. You may also need to create more than one account to keep your business and personal data separate.

Choose Folders allows you to select the folders you want to sync to your computer. Unchecked folders remain online only. The Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos folders are not allowed to be online only; therefore, you cannot uncheck them. Manila folders in OneDrive but not within those five folders can be online only and, therefore, can be unchecked. This is useful to prevent folders from other devices from downloading and syncing to your computer or device.

Choose which OneDrive folders to sync to your computer

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have questions or need further assistance.

    Craig
