Excel is uploading your most recent changes - How to fix?

A total of 3 people is working in one file, but I noticed that whatever changes applied on the excel app, it does not appear when you check them in Excel browser. Tried closing the app but this will appear "Excel is uploading your most recent changes. This will take a moment. If you'd rather not wait you can close the file now and we'll upload them the next time you open it." I left it as it is waiting but it is taking so long. Tried restarting the browser and before I re-open the excel app, I made sure that the company OneDrive files are synced but still, changes made in excel app do not appear in excel browser and vice versa. Please advise.

    Dear annathaways,

Good day! Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

From description, you are getting the pop-up message “Excel is uploading your most recent changes. This will take a moment. If you'd rather not wait you can close the file now and we'll upload them the next time you open it.”

Recently, many customers reported similar issue, I'm afraid that this may be an issue caused by server side which needs to be investigated and fixed by the related team.

In this situation, we recommend you report this issue to the related team as they have higher permission to investigate this issue from back end.

Please contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and follow steps in this article to raise a support ticket.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!

Hope you have a nice day and stay safe!

    Sincerely,

I get the same message when closing the desktop app and the file is stored on a SharePoint. Today I'm the only one in the file so it should sync. If it's happening to many others, it's not any sort of local admin server side issue. It's on the Microsoft cloud in my case so it really sounds like a Microsoft issue.
