    What did you try ?

    The normal procedure is

    1. install OneNote
    2. login to your account
    3. open your notebooks explicitely (nothing happens by itself)

    Dear Robin Bunstine Hanna

Thanks for raising your concerns in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are having issues with OneNote notes not being transferred. I understand how you feel, and this is indeed a troubling problem.

We need to confirm some details with you so that we can provide you with the right direction to solve the problem.

    • Have you used functions such as [One-click device replacement]?
    • Are there currently no synchronized notes in the OneNote app?

If you did not download OneNote manually but used the [Change Device] feature in your device, we recommend that you uninstall OneNote and re-download and install it in Google Play.

    • The [Change Device] feature in your phone can help transfer photos and documents on your device, but there may be compatibility issues between systems and apps on different device brands and models. Directly migrating data may cause compatibility errors or app crashes on the new phone.
    • And some data (such as verification codes, setting information of some applications, etc.) may not be fully transferred or synchronized, resulting in inability to be recognized on the new device. If the network is unstable during the migration process, the data migration will also be incomplete.

Therefore, we recommend that you reinstall related applications such as OneNote and OneDrive through Google Play on the new device. OneNote notes are stored on OneDrive. After installation, log in to your Microsoft account and the notes will be synchronized without causing data loss.

If you are not experiencing this problem, please share the specific problem details with us to help us better understand your problem.

I hope this is helpful to you and don't hesitate to ask any questions. Your understanding and patience will be greatly appreciated.

    Best Regards,

Tracy - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
