In the desktop version of Word for Windows, version 2501 (or later) in Microsoft 365, you can disable Copilot as follows:

  • Select File > Options.
  • Select Copilot in the navigation pane.
  • Clear the check box 'Enable Copilot'.
  • Click OK.
