    Hi Scott,

    I'm confused by your question.

Try to open it in 2011?

    2011 has to covert it?

Word 2011 is a Mac program.

Which version of Word are you using to save?

    To try to open?

File > Account > About Word

If you are referring to a document that was created in an older version of Word, you will see a Convert button at File > Info. However, there is no requirement to convert the document to the most recent file format. In most cases, you can leave the document in the older file format (you will see "Compatibility mode" on the title bar when the doc is open in Word).
