Problem with OneNote synchronization

Hello, I use OneNote on my laptop (Windows) and tablet (Samsung). Until last week, everything was fine. When I wrote on my tablet with a stylus, my notes were almost immediately visible on the laptop screen, in the OneNote app. However, a synchronization issue suddenly appeared.

If I add a document to OneNote (on the laptop), it takes a long time to appear on the tablet. I have to manually sync to speed up the process. The same happens when writing on the tablet. To see my notes on the laptop, I have to manually select the "sync notebook" option every time.

Additionally, I share notebooks with my friends, and they also experience delays in seeing my notes. I have updated the software, restarted the tablet, uninstalled and reinstalled OneNote, but the issue persists.

Can anyone help me with this? It’s becoming very frustrating.

Hi, I followed all the steps you provided in the instructions. The internet connection is stable. I also tested the synchronization in 3 different locations, using 3 different networks, plus a mobile network. It does not work automatically. I have to sync manually. This is very frustrating because I've been using OneNote intensively for 5 years, and nothing like this has happened. After the recent updates, synchronization suddenly stopped working. I can see that it’s not just my issue, as other users describe the same situations in OneNote user groups on Facebook. I'm waiting for a solution.

    Hi Szuetam80,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with OneNote synchronization and I understand how you feel.

Notice that when you sync files from your laptop to your Samsung tablet, you need to manually sync all the files to sync them successfully, I did the same test as you, and this problem will occur, therefore, we recommend that you check the network status of your device to confirm that you have a stable network connection, you can also log in to OneNote on the web **** to see if you can successfully sync the files from your laptop to your Samsung tablet, usually, OneNote Web loads notes stored on the server, if the network is good. Maybe the sync will be faster.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards,
