Good Morning

we have our account department using a Shared Excel spreadsheet in Sharepoint but one user is having issues saving any updates

It is hanging / not saving the updates back into the file, all the other users are saving ok

What do we do to resolve for this user.

All users are on the latest version of O365 and have the latest windows updates.

We have got all user to disconnect from the files so only this one user can access but she is still hanging.

Regards

Paul Giles

    Dear Paul Giles_Richter,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I have carefully reviewed your message and understand that one of your team members is experiencing issues saving updates to a shared Excel spreadsheet on SharePoint. To assist you effectively, could you please provide the following information:

    • Excel Version: Is the user accessing the spreadsheet via Excel for the web or the desktop application? This distinction will help us determine if the issue is related to the Excel client. If the user typically uses the desktop application, could they try editing the Excel file directly in the web browser? This will help us identify if the problem persists across different platforms.

User Permissions: What permissions does the user have for the file? Please confirm whether they have edit rights, as insufficient permissions can prevent saving changes.

    • To further diagnose the issue, please have the user attempt to edit different files from various SharePoint sites to determine if the problem persists across multiple documents.
    • This will help us identify whether the issue is specific to a particular file or SharePoint site.
Additionally, please confirm the user's permission levels for these files to ensure they have the necessary access rights.

Also, try sharing the file as an "Anyone with the link" link, and test if the user can edit it and save changes to SharePoint. ( If you are unable to see the "Anyone link," please refer to this article.--- >>> Sharepoint "anyone" share link greyed out, even after ...)

We are waiting for your response.

Thank you for your time and patience. We wish you a great day.
