Hello,

We are working collaborating files from a sharepoint.

I experience problem with files getting svaed in my Onedrive root folder instead of the sharepoint location.

This situation happend when I work in the field with limited or no internet connection.

The files do not sync when I get back on-line, I end-up with 2 copies.

The sharepoint files are acces with the file explorer, after adding a shortcut to onedrive the site / folder .

This happend only to office files. (Excel and Word, in differents sub folders of the shaepoint)

Having multiple user working on these files, I can't just re-copy to sharepoint, this would cause lost of chage by other users.

See attached image for details.

What cause this and how to fix?

    Dear Nicolas Deschênes,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to assist you.

We apologize for the issues you’re experiencing with OneDrive sync, specifically with SharePoint files being saved to your OneDrive root folder instead of the SharePoint location when working offline. We understand the inconvenience this causes and are here to help.

Unfortunately, the image you attached did not upload as expected. Please try uploading the image again by clicking the Insert Image button or by directly copying and pasting the image into your post.

In the meantime, please consider the following suggestions:

    1. Unlink and Re-link OneDrive: Refer to the Unlink and re-link OneDrive - Microsoft Support guide for instructions.
    2. Reset OneDrive: Follow the steps outlined in the Reset OneDrive - Microsoft Support article to reset your OneDrive.
    3. Reinstall OneDrive: For detailed instructions, please see Reinstall OneDrive - Microsoft Support

Additionally, we recommend removing the shortcut in OneDrive and directly syncing the SharePoint folder to see if this resolves the issue.

    Dear Nicolas,

Thanks for posting back and confirming the scenario with us.

It seems like the problem might be related to OneDrive sync. Here are some steps to try:

    4. Additionally, we recommend removing the shortcut in OneDrive and directly syncing the SharePoint folder. This might help improve stability with an unstable network connection.

    Regards,

    Rhoda
