    Dear BerryPT

    Thank you for your reply. I understand your concern about not being able to open the file locally.

    Since the files can be opened online, they will not be lost or corrupted. The problem may be due to local sync settings or PC software malfunction.

    The following are some steps you can take.

    1. Press "Windows Key + R" to open the "Run" dialog box .
    2. Type "regedit" and press Enter.
    3. Copy the path shown below to the red box in the image:
       HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}

      Image Subsequently, double-click the registry entry in the red box on the right and select EditModify the value to 0, and then click OK.
    4. Restart your PC to apply the changes.

    Disclaimer: Modifying registry or workgroup subkeys is generally intended for power users, administrators, and IT professionals. It can help fix some issues. However , serious problems can occur if you edit the registry incorrectly. So, make sure to follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. You can then restore the registry if there is a problem. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft SupportSupport to*view this article.*If the above steps do not solve your problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling the OneDrive app on your PC. Remember to back up important data first.

    If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

    Hi Coco

    Thank you for your kind answer, but the situation is the same.

    The worst is that I cannot open locally (on my PC) the files that were synchronized before in OneDrive; for all, there is an error message.

    Fortunately, I can open it online in the OneDrive cloud.

    Here is the print screen of the OneDrive blocked and the two folders created.

    I am very worried; here I have files that were created more than 20 years ago

    Thank you for your support

    Best regards
