Hi Andrew,
Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.
I go through your post carefully. Per your description, I think you are using the Group Calendar web part but it doesn't meet your needs (show events in the Month view). Based on my testing and searching, there is currently no way to use only the built-in functionality to meet your needs. Previously, users could use the “Embed” web part and insert iframe code to display the group calendar on the page, but this method does not work now and returns the error message “outlook.office.com refused to connect “.
Embed Outlook Calendar into SharePoint site
Based on my testing, as a workaround, you can use 3rd-part SharePoint apps to show group calendars in the Month view, like the "Calendar Rollup" app provided by BoostSolutions. You can access the following Microsoft AppSource link or search it from the SharePoint App Store to add it to your SharePoint. Note that you may need to wait for your tenant administrator to approve the app and the API access request for the app in the SharePoint admin center. In addition, please note that the app requires payment for use and offers a free 30-day trial!

After that, you will be able to add the "Calendar Rollup" web part on the SharePoint page and show the group calendar on the page.
