Content Search inoperable starting 2025-03-25

Beginning on or near 2025-03-25, content search via the web interface started failing on every attempt. My permissions have not changed, and our company licensing has not changed. Via powershell, using New-ComplianceSearch and via web at /ediscovery/contentsearchv2 I get the same results.

Messages such as:

Client Error

Unable to execute the task. Reason: Compliance search initialization for "xxxxx" failed with exception: An error occurred while sending the request.. Or

The search job has failed.
Internal server error occurred. Please try again later. (CS019-001)

Closing the loop here... The issue has been resolved as of 3/27/2025. It was an internal Microsoft issue with eDiscovery services, not a user issue.

    Dear Michael Teets

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community.

These errors (with error codes of CS001-002, CS003-002, CS008-009, CS012-002, and other errors of the form CS0XX-0XX) indicate that Content Search failed to search specific content locations

Restarting the search will often result in similar errors on different servers. Instead of restarting the search, select Retry at the top of the search results page.
