I am not able to sign into my email because it is requiring the authenticator app but I cannot set up the authenticator app because it requires the app to be set up (and give me code) to set up.

I have this same issue, but the account is not an admin account. I am an admin, and we never set up the authenticator for one user's account, and now it is asking for authenticator verification and we have no idea how to get this use access to their account.

This issue has bricked her access to microsoft office on all of her devices.

I am having the same issues and am not an admin. But it is the same issue where I'm stuck in a loop of using my password but needing to go through the app, and then the app does not work for this email.

I've been signed out of every Microsoft program and every program that utilizes this email but cannot bypass the authentication section because they both require me to use this app that is not working.

    Hello

It is a business email account (outlook.com). It is for a business. My account is an admin account, but there are to other people with admin accounts as well.

I was able to log this morning after another admin in the business took off double authentication for my account. But now when I attempt to check the security info to add my personal number or email it requires me to authenticate via the app.

I am not able to set up the app because when I attempt to do so it requires me to authenticate my log in via the app. There was a past employee who had the authenticator app connected to this email but she deleted it when she left the company. All of these problems could be fixed if I could set up the authenticator on my phone. Thank you for your help.

    Best,

    Sophia

    Dear Sophia Budden,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessing your account. To understand the issue and provide possible solution, May I please double confirm if you are using a Microsoft 365 business email account or a Microsoft personal account such as outlook.com, hotmail.com or live.com?

If you are using a Microsoft 365 business email account, May I please double confirm if the account in question is an admin account or and end user account?

If it is an admin account, May I please double confirm if the account in question is an only admin account or other user has admin privilege in your organization?

May I please know if the account is provided via school or organization?

I look forward to your response. Kindly note that the above requested information is required for further analysis and troubleshooting of your situation. Your patience and cooperation are much appreciated.

Thank you for your precious time. Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,

    Libeamlak | Microsoft Community Moderator
