I understand that you would like to restore text to its default setting in Word. I will try to help you test the issue.

To better help you test, I wanted to confirm with you that the feature you are describing is the option to clear all text formatting?

If so, I tried looking up the option in Word for iPad and there doesn't seem to be a setting for it. The iPad version of Word may have less functionality than the desktop version due to the integration features of the app on the iPad.

I've searched for the official article that describes how to do this on the web and in the PC app version of Word, and suggest that you try doing it in the desktop version of Word or log in to the web version from your iPad. **** Clear all text formatting - Microsoft Support
