I received the charge for $140 and change on my card and I’m not sure why I don’t even have a Microsoft account or can’t sign into any account and I need a refund

    Hello Sweeney Bruce

Good day and thanks for posting in Microsoft community.

I completely understand how alarming it must be to see unauthorized charges on your Microsoft School account. You likely use this account for work or educational purposes, and it’s unsettling to notice unexpected charges, especially if you haven't made any purchases yourself.

Please keep in mind that, there are typically two privacy guidelines that restrict community support for now:

    • Privacy and security: Financial and subscription issues often involve sensitive personal information that should not be shared publicly on forums.
    • Access account information: Community agents do not have direct access to users' subscription details or billing information. Therefore, we are unable to verify payments or make changes to your accounts.

Microsoft Billing is the team that directly handles account transactions, payment issues, and unauthorized charges. They can immediately look into the details of the charges and determine if they were mistakenly applied to your account, or if there’s been some kind of fraud or misuse.

If these charges were not authorized by you, Microsoft Billing can review the account’s activity and check if there was any unauthorized access or if someone else gained access to your school account. This will help clarify whether your account was compromised in any way.

You can call Microsoft billing support at **** Find Microsoft 365 for business support phone numbers by country or region - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Please note that when you call the support hotline during local office hours, the initial response will be handled by an automated system. After providing the necessary information, it should transfer you to a support agent. Please ensure you use the phone number registered with your account at the time of purchasing the tenant. During the phone call, you may need to provide information related to your subscription, such as your company name, billing details, registered phone number, and alternate email address. This will help the support team address your account and subscription-related inquiries more effectively.

Hope this helps! Please feel free to repost if you need further assistance with the issue. We are here to help in anyway.

    Sincerely,

    Bertrand | Microsoft Community Moderator
