    Hi Nardjess,

Thanks for posting back and providing the detailed information.

Based on the error messages, I think some of the data in the workbook is corrupted. This can be caused by many reasons, especially if one of the users has a problem with their local environment that results in corrupted data after saving the file. In some of the cases where customers have experienced similar issues, they have mentioned that after opening the workbook in Excel for iPad, the user gets an error message when opening it in the Excel desktop app.

In this case, since the workbook is stored in SharePoint, I suggest you use the Version History feature to restore the workbook to a previous version. See if the previous version of the workbook still returns the error when opened.

Sorry for the inconvenience that happened to you. Appreciate your understanding and patience.

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi Nardjess,

In the meantime, recently, I have seen other customers in the community also mention a similar issue when multiple users are co-authoring a shared document. If you have checked the above points, and this occurs on a specific workbook and not on other files in the same online location, I recommend you try the following steps and then check again. If the problem persists, please post back and let us know.

    a. Have each user close all Office applications on the device.

    b. Manually delete the Office cache folder

Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box. Copy/paste the following path and press Enter. Delete the folder "0".

    %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\OfficeFileCache

    c. Start by having both users open the shared document. See if the issue occurs. If not, have more users open the shared document and check again.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation. 😊

    Sincerely,

    George | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Hi Nardjess,

Thanks for posting in the community. We are happy to help you.

I understand the inconvenience you are experiencing. Per your description, this can be caused by different reasons. Since we are communicating in the community, I am not able to check your environment directly. Therefore, I would like to gather more information for initial troubleshooting. You can share the results/information with us, which will help us narrow down the problem.

    1. Please provide a full screenshot including the error message.

You can upload the screenshot via "Insert Image".

  6. I would like to know if the issue is with a specific file.

For testing purposes, you can go to the online location in the browser, create a new file in the same location, and then have multiple users open the newly created file. See if the issue still occurs.

  1. Please provide your Office version and Subscription Information.

You can go to File> Account and check the relevant information as shown below. In addition, since the issue occurs when multiple users are co-authoring the same file, please check the Office version and Subscription Information on each user's device. If some users are using different Office products or Office versions, please point it out and let us know.
