Office 365 and GoDaddy

GoDaddy told me that I cannot integrate or even verify my domain with GoDaddy through 365 Office, because my GoDaddy account was created using a gmail account. I bought 365 Office, replacing Personal, to get more OneDrive storage space. Now I can't sync with my website. Is this really true? Can I revert to 365 Personal?

Hi Bush. Thanks for the update.

Did you wait 15–30 minutes after adding the TXT record in GoDaddy before clicking Verify in Microsoft 365? Also, make sure the Host is set to @, and the TXT value is exactly what Microsoft gave you.

Here’s the simple guide to follow: Microsoft's GoDaddy DNS setup.

If it still doesn’t work, tell me the exact error message from Microsoft so I can help you better.

    Regards,

    Arlene D.

Thanks, Arlene. I have tried many times to set up the DNS in GoDaddy so that Microsoft can verify. I get the messages below. In GoDaddy, I made my records public, not private, thinking that might help. It did not. I added the TXT record as set in Microsoft. That did not work. can you help?

Thanks, Bush. If your Microsoft 365 subscription was bought directly from Microsoft, you can connect your GoDaddy domain, even if your GoDaddy account uses Gmail. Just add and verify the domain through the Microsoft 365 admin center and update DNS records in GoDaddy.

If your Microsoft 365 plan was purchased through GoDaddy, then domain setup is restricted to their system, and you’ll need to manage everything from their end, which is why their support said no.

And no worries, I can’t be hired privately, but I’m here to help you step-by-step anytime.

Thanks, Arlene. I have tried creating the necessary DNS records already. Did not work. GoDaddy support refused to help me, saying this was impossible. Can I hire you to figure this out? ******@Nielsentitle.com.

Hi thanks for reaching out, I'm Arlene an Independent Advisor.

To clarify, you can still connect a GoDaddy domain to Microsoft 365, even if your GoDaddy login uses Gmail. You just need to manually add and verify the domain through the Microsoft 365 admin center: Add a domain to Microsoft 365.

And yes, you can revert back to Microsoft 365 Personal if needed—just cancel your current plan and re-subscribe. Make sure to back up your files before switching.

Hope it helps. Please let me know for further assistance.

    Thank you,

    Arlene D.
