Modern SharePoint list-Very slow for the end user

Hi Team

I've recently migrated our change teams database to SharePoint list online (modern view) which is an updated SharePoint version from what was used before.

The end users have been mentioning that it's very slow and is laggy when trying to go into a certain view or when they try and create/filter/update an entry.

The form it itself has over 300 list items and includes:

  • JSON formula to have form set up in sections
  • JSON formula for headers and footers
  • Conditional formatting to flag certain conditions
  • Has been linked to another SharePoint site
  • Has over 88 columns to fill in
  • 50 people have access to it with updates occurring at any given time
  • 8 custom views to choose from

Is there a way where we can optimise the speed so it's not so slow in responding.

Cheers,
Harry

    Hi @Harry N Nomikos ,

I would suggest you don't do so many custom settings in the same list. According to my investigation, there are no clear restrictions in the SPO list, however more custom settings will inevitably affect the performance in the list.

For list performance, common steps are like below, have a try:

    1.Add indexes on columns.
2.Edit the view and apply filters. Make sure only a portion of items will get diplayed under the current view.
