Cannot Access Python in Excel with Enterprise version 2504

Hi, I have the same problem with this post Cannot access Python in Excel - Microsoft Community and would like to know if this issue has been solved.

I'm using Enterprise license of M365 with the latest version (v 2504) and on the Current channel. However, Insert Python doesn't show in the Formula tab as described in the instruction (Get started with Python in Excel - Microsoft Support). Is there any other method I could try to trigger the feature?

Here is some information about the system I use:

OS: Windows 11 24H2

Excel: M365 version 2504 (Build 18730.20168 Click-to-Run), Current channel.

ps. The M365 license on my laptop is provided through my school, so there is no option to join the Insider Program.

Thank you!

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Python in Excel is available on the Current Channel starting with version 2405. Since you're on version 2504, you should be eligible, so the issue likely lies elsewhere.

BTW, Python in Excel requires that Connected Experiences are turned on. To check this:

    • Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Privacy Options.
    • Make sure "Enable connected experiences" is checked.

Give it a try and let me know your findings.

    Hello,

Please let me know if there is any update.

We have the same problem in our business with the same version (Enterprise) Version 2504 Build 16.0.18730.20226) 64-bit. I sent the issue to our IT team, but suspect this might be a Microsoft problem as other users are reporting same issues. It can accept the PY formula in the bar if I open file previously created, but not allowed to work with the code anymore after this update.
