    Dear Laurel,

I truly apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try to fix issues with Microsoft Office:

Method 1. Repair Office: Open Control Panel > Programs and Features > select Microsoft Office > click Change > then choose Repair

**Method 2. Uninstall Office:**Open Control Panel > Programs and Features. > Select Microsoft Office, then click Uninstall.

Method 3. Reinstall Office: If repairing doesn't work, uninstall Office and download it again from the official Microsoft website.

Method 4. Upload the file to OneDrive/SharePoint: Try opening the file on a cloud service to see if you can edit it. This helps determine if the issue is with the local installation.

    • Open OneDrive or SharePoint in your web browser.
    • Sign in with your Microsoft account.
    • Click Upload, then select your file.
    • Once uploaded, try opening the file

Method 5. Try Opening in Safe Mode (If File is Corrupt)

    • Close Excel, then reopen it in Safe Mode (press Win + R, type excel /safe).
    • Open the file and see if the button works.

If these steps don’t fix the problem, you may need to contact Microsoft Support through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center or your company’s IT team to report issue and get confirmation about this feature. And the related supported team will further help you; you will get a more detailed and professional answer to your query there.

***Note:***If you’re an end-user, please coordinate with your Office 365 Global Administrator to handle these steps.

I hope this information is helpful.

Thanks for your patience and understanding so far. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    Best Regards,

    Dear Laurel,

Apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. Before giving you the best solution, could you share the exact error message you're seeing? If possible, please provide a screenshot to help us diagnose the issue more effectively.

Based on your description, here are some methods you can try:

Method 1: Check for Disabled Macros: Go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings and ensure macros are enabled.

Method 2: Look at the Button's Code: If the button runs a macro, you can open the Visual Basic Editor (Alt + F11) and inspect the code for errors.

    • In the Project Explorer (left panel), look for:
      • ThisWorkbook
      • Modules
      • Sheet Objects (where the button is located)
    • Check if any of these contain error messages or corrupted code.

Method 3: See If an Add-in Is Missing: If the button relies on an Excel add-in, check under File > Options > Add-ins to see if one is inactive or missing.

Method 4: Try a Different Computer or User Account: If possible, open the file on another device to see if the problem persists.

If the issue still persists, unfortunately, as forum moderator, I don’t have access to the backend systems to troubleshoot this effectively due to privacy and security constraints. For that reason, the most efficient solution would be to:

    • If this is a file from an external provider, you may need to approach the developer or IT support
    • If this is a file from your workplace, contact Microsoft’s support team directly to report issue and get confirmation about this feature. And the related supported team will further help you; you will get a more detailed and professional answer to your query there.

***Note:***If you’re an end-user, please coordinate with your Office 365 Global Administrator to handle these steps.

If you still have problems, please let me know and I will continue to help you with the problem.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,
