Conditional formatting, change the color of a cell as it approaches the date in the cell

I am trying to set up conditional formatting rules for an entire column based on how far away from the date we are. I'd like the cell to be orange in the 10 days before and then turn red after the date has past.

My spreadsheet is set up as followed.

Column B has a date in it.

Column C has the following formula set up: "=IF(B10,B10+60,"") so that it gives me a date 60 days after the date in column B.

    Hi Katie,

Good day and welcome to the community. Below are my approach in achieving your request. It can be done within one column:

    1. Select your date column (in your case Column B)
    2. Select conditional formatting and add two rules: 1. =TODAY()-B1=10 and highlight with orange; 2. =TODAY()-B1>10 and highlight with red.
    3. Please also remember to set the cell format as Date

    I hope this can help!
