Cannot Reset My Microsoft Account Password – "Temporary Problem with the Service" Error

Hello,

I'm trying to recover my Microsoft account after receiving a security warning about unusual activity.

I attempted to sign in with my password but got this message:
"There’s a problem with the system. Please try again later."

I then entered the last 4 digits of my phone number, and again got the same message.

Afterwards, I filled out the account recovery form, and received a password reset link to my recovery email.

But when I click the reset link and enter my account email, I get this:
There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

    Hi there,

I'm Cherrelyn, an Independent Advisor, I'm here to help and I completely understand how frustrating this is. That error message, "There's a temporary problem with the service", is usually linked to a server-side issue on Microsoft's end, especially after suspicious activity flags. Here’s what I suggest is wait few hours and try again and use a different browser or device, and try in private/incognito mode to avoid cached errors. If still stuck, go to the Microsoft recovery form again: https://account.live.com/acsr and use the recovery email you have access to, and describe your issue clearly in the notes section. If nothing works after 24–48 hours, I recommend reaching out directly through this link

    https://support.microsoft.com/contactus.

Let me know about my suggestion, I'm here to guide for further assistance.

    Warm regards,

    Cherrelyn
