Hello,

Overnight on 9/7/2021, my WSUS automated synch showed that Microsoft made the following changes to product names:

1) changed the name of the Office :: "Office 2019" product to Office :: "SharePoint Server 2019/Office Online Server"

2) changed the name of the Office :: "Office 365 Client" product to Office :: "Microsoft 365 Apps/Office 2019/Office LTSC"

Anyone know why this is???

Windows Server
Windows Server
A family of Microsoft server operating systems that support enterprise-level management, data storage, applications, and communications.

    Thanks for your response.

It seems that Microsoft has already added the new SharePoint Server 2019/Office Online Server product menu in WSUS console. But there is no such Official Document from Microsoft right now. I'm not sure whether there will be some changes in the future. In fact, the Products and Classifications menu will be updated when the WSUS server sync with Microsoft Update Site. Please wait for several days and confirm whether there will be official released document.

In addition, I noticed that the Office 2019 updates also added into the Microsoft 365 Apps/Office 2019/Office LTSC product menu. Here is screenshot in my lab for your reference:

Please help to confirm whether the phenomenon is as the same as your's.

Also here is product menu screenshot for your reference:

Thanks for your time and have a great weekend.

    Regards,
    Rita

    @Rich DeFuria
Thanks for your posting on Q&A.

I did notice that there are some change. I found this link for your reference. According to this link, Microsoft has changed the product name from Office 365 to Microsoft 365. Also the name of office 365 update packages in the Microsoft Update Catalog is changing.

Another reference link and reference picture for you:

I have already synced the Office updates in my lab and it seems that product of the office updates is changed to Microsoft 365 Apps/Office 2019/Office LTSC. So please try to add this products on the WSUS console and sync the required office udpates next time.

Hope the above will be helpful.

    Regards,
    Rita
