Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Max Stewart1,
Welcome to Microsoft Community. We glad to support you here.
We understand the importance of avoiding duplicate licensing costs, especially with an existing commitment to Microsoft 365 Business Standard nonprofit licenses through early 2026.
To support their move to Microsoft Intune, there is a standalone Intune license available. To purchase Intune Standalone license: Go to Microsoft Admin Center > Marketplace > Search for Intune. You can find 2 types of Intune Standalone license available shown as this picture:
The main difference between the two is that Microsoft Intune Plan 1 Device is licensed per device, while Microsoft Intune Plan 1 is licensed per user. Microsoft Intune Plan 1 Device is designed for organizations that need to manage and secure company-owned devices, while Microsoft Intune Plan 1 is designed for organizations that need to manage and secure both company-owned and personal devices.
And Microsoft Intune device licenses are applicable when a device is enrolled through any of the following methods:
- Windows Autopilot Self-Deploying mode
- Apple Device Enrollment Program without user affinity
- Apple School Manager without user affinity
- Apple Configurator without user affinity
- Android Enterprise dedicated
- Using a device enrollment manager account
Hope this information will help you. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Nam-D - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist.
