Stuck in Microsoft Authenticator Authentication Loop

Hello Microsoft Support,

I am experiencing an issue with Microsoft Authenticator and need urgent help.

  1. I accidentally logged out of my Authenticator app. Now, when I try to log back in, it requires me to verify using the same Authenticator app, which I no longer have access to.
  2. I can log into my Microsoft account at Microsoft.com, but when I try to disable Authenticator verification, it again asks me to authenticate using the app, creating an endless loop.
  3. There is no option for SMS, email, or backup codes, leaving me locked out of my authentication settings.

How can I regain access to my account or remove Microsoft Authenticator without needing to authenticate through it?

This is a work account which now appears to be locked for 11 hours.

Please provide an expedient resolution so I can continue with my work.

Regards

Brian

    Hello Brian.

I understand the urgency of your situation. To resolve the issue with Microsoft Authenticator authentication loop, you can try the following steps:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account recovery page: https://account.live.com/acsr
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity using alternative methods such as email or phone number.
    3. Once your identity is verified, you can remove the Microsoft Authenticator app from your account settings.

If you are still unable to regain access to your account, I recommend contacting Microsoft account support for further assistance. You can reach them at https://support.microsoft.com.

I hope this helps you regain access to your account promptly. Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Hello,

    This does not help.

As I said previously when I attempt to verify my identity authenticator is stuck in a vicious loop.

I cannot login to contact Microsoft support and there are no options to verify using alternative methods like phone or email.

This authentication loop has already cost me a day of work and is entirely unacceptable.

I need to have a Microsoft support individual contact me directly via email.

    This is ridiculous.
