Authenticator app not generating codes

I'm caught in a doom loop. Trying to log into my admin account. The log in process is trying to verify me via Authenticator app. However, the authenticator app does not generate a code. When I select "try another way" it sends me to the Authenticator app. No way out of this doom loop.

I'm starting to feel that Microsoft support is a giant catfish operation. Three calls to support, three promises of escalation to the multi factor engineering team, 0 progress, 0 call backs.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Since this is the only admin account and you're locked out, Microsoft support is your best path forward. Here's how to get help:

    1. Go to https://admin.microsoft.com
    2. Click “Need help?” in the bottom-right corner.
    3. If you can’t log in at all, go to https://support.microsoft.com and:
      • Select “Contact Support”
      • Choose “Microsoft 365 for business”
      • Explain that you're locked out of the only global admin account due to incomplete MFA setup.

If those steps don’t resolve the issue, you can contact our data protection team by calling the regional numbers listed at this link:

    Important Notes

    • If the account has been permanently deleted, Microsoft and DepEd may not be able to restore it.
    • If you had important files or emails, ask if backups are available.
    • Going forward, make sure to regularly check your DepEd email or link it to a personal account for alerts.
