Hello,
just after installing windows 10 1909 update, my search crashed and started to see the following in event application log
any luck for a resolution ?

I am having the same issue and it is causing a lot of distress. The start button becomes unresponsive and search UI throws errors (most of which are from kernelbase.dll). However, sometimes they are from Windows.UI.XML.dll like this quetsion insists.
In some of the cases:
start button has a delayed opening first time you click it, then future times it is much quicker.
In other cases, when the debugger is running, clicking on the start button causes SearchUI to crash and then causes a delay in opening.
Please help? What should i try to do?
I have run into this issue on several virtual machines.
Here is one example:

Hi, same issue here on windows 10 1909 built from an SCCM task sequence. Fresh OS install, pretty vanilla only a few other applications on top such as m365 suite, SAP GUI and acrobat reader. Tried removing the cortana app from my user profile and installing again using Add-AppXPackage in powershell to no avail, impacting the start menu as well. Makes using Win 10 impossible, fixed in later version of windows? Could this be the result of using Import-StartLayout with a custom taskbar in the XML?

My machine does not have BingSearch in the registry location provided in that solution. I am still having the issue though. This is my current registry:

I had no Bing related key in my registry.
