vs2022 preview peculiarities

recently I had the misfotune to install vs2022 preview. I noticed that even a simple c# "hello world" type of programs now generate are rather large number of peculiar files to the output dir i.e. a dll and various xml and json config files etc.Yeah how to make things complex!
No worries I thought I will uninstall and go back to my trusty vs2019.
No such luck. Now it too is doing the same and I have done no explicit update of it.
Why didn't the uninstall of vs2022 not restore things to the situ before its install?. I have read a bit here and there that it appears to split up the packaging presumably to make things easier for someone in timbukto who has the time to read all the documentation referenced but this is not something I figured in to my calculations. Oh woe to me that I installed it and all the other near constant updates coming thick and fast (that I cannot avoid due to Microsofts Autocratic operation), to muddy the waters.
Any idea how I can simply get vs2019 back to just generating a single exe c# hello world program? and by simple I mean simple i.e. not to read reams of pages rather just a strtegic bit flip please

    Hi @jackoby ,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

It seems that the Visual Studio 2022 Preview is not uninstalled cleanly. You can run InstallCleanup.exe to remove all installed instances completely and go back to the Visual Studio 2019 again.

If you have any feedback about Visual Studio 2022 Preview, you can report to product teams:

    Sincerely,
    Anna
