A few weeks ago this issue started occurring in Google Chrome

, the Google Chrome window suddenly turned blank and therefore I tried different browsers to find a solution.
Back then I found a thread suggesting to change the compatibility settings, which semi-worked, but Youtube would always crash and give an "aw snap" message.

When installing different browsers to be able to look up my problem, I noticed that a similar thing happened with Opera (Opera also made my taskbar and sometimes the whole desktop act weird and lag / glitch and be blank) and with Microsoft Edge (which was white instead of the usual black).
When these issues occur I often cannot close the application by right-clicking in the taskbar clicking "Quit", but instead have to "end task" in the task manager to close the program.
Now i have been using Firefox for a while and managed to ignore the problem.

However the same issue keeps occurring with other types of software and also installers, with Github both the installer and the app show a black window.
The installer of an E-book reader app called Ridibooks showed the same behavior.
The buttons sometimes still work, so knowing where theyy arre located one could close confirm or cancel things.

I am sorry for explaining this whole situation in layman's terms and in a very visual manner, however I miss the vocabulary and knowledge to explain it in a more technical way.

I have updated Windows several times since, to the latest version and also updated my graphics card driver without observing any change.

To troubleshoot the issue, try perform Clean Boot and see if the problem persist?
    Take a look at:

If not, enable services one by one to identify which one causing the problem.
You may open the Command prompt as administrator and then type the following command:

    sfc /scannow

Press enter and let it runs and see if there is any corrupted components which need repair.

    Hello @crispr_boi

I believe its issue with your browser but issue with your PC as its happening with your other applications as well.

I would suggest below troubleshooting steps.

    1. Start PC in safe mode and cleanup
      C:\Windows\temp and C:\WinNT\Temp.
    2. Also cleanup your temo folder geom user profile %appdata%
    3. Try to login with other user profile and see if any blank window in Taskbar or Chrome.
    4. Disable Antivirus for temporary.

    Hope this helps
