Hi, I have the Edge installed on my MacBook TWICE but then I still deleted it because it keeps changing itself to the Chinese version. I enjoyed using Edge and its built-in features. when I just installed the app, it worked like a charm but after a few days, the browser obviously reads my geographical position and changes the region to mainland China, even the homepage prompts the Chinese ads... I want to use Edge and I think it'd be a great replacement to Chrome and Safari but this made me delete the app twice... can anybody tell me if there's such a setting I can go to disable this? Thank you

You can try to refer to the steps below to fix the issue:

Click the gear icon on the top right of the new tab page.
Click Advanced and choose the language you want under Language & content.
Click the three-dot icon on the top right of the browser and click Settings.
Click Start, home, and new tabs on the left and turn off Preload the new tab page for a faster experience under New tab page.
Restart the browser and test again.

Hello Yu,

Thank you for the answer, much appreciated. I reinstalled the app and used it for a while now. it did again change the region to Mainland China but I did as you wrote and attempted to change it back and disable the Preload page functionality, it appears to work... for now. Let's see if it'll once again automatically change the country to China.

No... actually, it doesn't work. It still constantly changing it self back to the mainland china region

Which version of Edge are you using?
What language and region do you set on your Mac? Please set your language and region to English to see if it can fix the issue.
Besides, it looks like you're located in China now. I find a similar issue and I think the last reply on this page makes sense. You can also give it a try with a VPN.

hey, after reading the post, I understand now why it happened and why's it not possible to change it if I physically/ geographically remain in mainland China. However, thanks for the replies and for trying to help, appreciate it.
