Manual Proxy Video Playback

John Hyla 1 Reputation point

We have a number of computers that we want to lock down to certain training websites. We created a manual proxy with an address of port 80 and added exceptions to the sites allowed to visit. All works fine until we found that videos displayed on a site cannot be viewed. One of the training sites has links to videos on YouTube. If I try to go to one, the video is just black.

I tried to add to my list of exceptions with no help. I can navigate to and see all of the words / descriptions of the videos but not the videos themselves.

Any idea why enabling the proxy would prevent this? And is there a way to get around?

We are using Windows 10 on these computers.
