We have a infrastructure setup using Remote desktop farm which has remote desktop session hosts (3 session host) where Office is installed, there are around 100 users, each user has below folder which is consuming more than 500 MB, how to disable this and how to turn off this as the disk space is consuming huge and its growing daily

I tried to get rid of this folder using various methods. If you are using Office 365 or Retail, then probably the only solution is switching to Office LTSC, because LTSC does not have web add-ins.

    Hi,

I'm Sumit, here to help with your query on the Microsoft Q&A forums.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

The folder contains the add-ins installed for Microsoft Office and their caches. It is right now 520 MB for my installation, which is quite normal.

Here are some of the steps for the same:

    1. Disable Addins.
    2. Open any Office app, e.g., Word. Navigate to File → Options → Save. Under Cache Settings, select Delete cached files and confirm.
    3. You can also delete the folder entirely, but it will build up again.

    Also check:

    Also, to make space:

Treesize should tell you which files and folders are taking up the space.

I hope you find this information useful. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, please take a moment to rate the thread. Wishing you good luck!
