Missing Database Version for PL-300 Lab – "Get Data in Power BI"

Hi,

I'm currently working on the PL-300 "Get Data in Power BI" lab. When I connect to localhost via Power BI Desktop, the SQL Server only shows AdventureWorksDW2022, which doesn’t contain the tables required for the lab (e.g. DimEmployee, DimProduct, FactResellerSales).

The lab instructions refer to AdventureWorksDW2020, but it's not available. Could you please advise how I can access the correct database or ensure the expected lab environment?

TiA,

Laura

Solved – AdventureWorksDW2020 Not Showing

Just to follow up — I got it working by manually restoring the AdventureWorksDW2020 database using SQL Server Management Studio and the .bak file from GitHub. After that, Power BI picked it up with no issues.

Hope that helps someone else!

Laura
