The system information on my computer says that I have 34.0 GB of installed RAM but only 1.99 GB of total RAM. I don't think this is right but I am not sure how to fix it. My computer is windows 10 and is a 64-bit operating system. The pc is HP Z800 workstation -- pretty old. Someone please help me fix this!!!r/Windows10 - Discrepancy between Installed RAM(Physical Memory - (34.0 GB) and Total RAM(Physical Memory) - 1.99 GB

The problem indicated on your system is that 32GB of the 34GB of RAM has been set aside for hardware reserved, that is used for things like integrated graphics, because integrated graphics does not have any dedicated VRAM.

Go to the support page for your system on the HP website, then from there, update all your drivers and also check for any BIOS update that may be avaialble and not yet installed.

Also, click your Start Button, then just type msconfig and press Enter.

On the resulting utility, select the Boot tab.

Click the 'Advanced Options' button on that tab.

If the Maximum Memory settings is set, disable that and uncheck that Maximum Memory Box.

Then restart your PC to see if that frees up some of your RAM.
