Hi All,
I just started using SP and I use File Explorer as the tool to view the files that I have on SP. However, I am not quite sure why different icons are being used for the root of the folder.

I am not quite sure why this is and would appreciate if any feedback could be provided on this. Thank you.

Are you using SharePoint server or SharePoint Online?

The icons suggest that you have synced a document library to the local drive/OneDrive for Business. The first icon with SharePoint symbol on it represents that it is the root folder for the document library.

The folder symbol suggests that it is the sublevel folder in the library.

When you first sync the library to local drive, it might display the root level folder icon as the second one, but it usually gets changed to the first one after a while.
