I updated my desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 about 3 years ago but did not update my laptop because I was not using it at that time, Now I want to use my laptop again . Can I transfer files from my desktop (Win10) to my laptop (win 7) and use those files on my Laptop?

Personal files can be copied and pasted from one computer to another.

Windows 7 can still be upgraded for free to Windows 10.

If you need links on how to upgrade please comment into this thread.

    Hi @Verlene Moody

So you are asking whether you can use the Files from Win 10 on Win 7 or any specific apps that you wish to run on Win 7?

In the case of files, yes you can open the files and use it on the Win 7 PC and the first thing would be to check whether the laptop is booting up or not.

Hope this answers all your queries, if not please do repost back.

It is really good idea to upgrade your system, if you are still using windows 7. To get your free upgrade, use below link of Microsoft to Download Windows 10 website. Click the “Download tool now” button and download the .exe file and select “Upgrade this PC now” when prompted.

    Reference link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Let me know if my suggestion worked.
