I’m trying to upgrade my Windows 11 Home edition to Windows 11 Pro using a valid product key that I purchased. However, I’ve encountered several issues:
When I enter the Pro key via Settings → Activation → Change product key, I get the error code 0xC004F050 saying the key didn’t work.
Trying to upgrade using the generic Windows 11 Pro key to trigger the edition upgrade fails with error 0x803fa067, stating I don’t have a valid digital license or product key.
I attempted to manually change the edition by editing the registry keys (EditionID and ProductName) from “Core” to “Professional,” but after reboot, the values revert back to “Core.”
When trying to install my actual product key via command line (slmgr /ipk), I get the error 0xC004F069, indicating the key doesn’t match the installed edition.
I’ve confirmed I’m running Windows 11 Home (version 24H2) fully updated and activated with a digital license linked to my Microsoft account.
Do you know a reliable way to upgrade from Home to Pro in this situation? Should I try a clean install, or is there an official upgrade path or workaround that I might be missing?
If possible, I would appreciate remote assistance to troubleshoot this directly on my PC.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
