I work on a windows machine, have a mac build machine on same network.
Have had no real issues like few months. Last update of VS to 16.11.2 - "remote device" is no longer available to select when I am attempting to do a release build.

Is there any other way to generate the ipa?
What configuration settings might hide remote device option?
All machines are up to date, xcode, mac os, Xamarin forms plugins, vs.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is to roll back VS to an earlier version, trying to avoid that if I can find what the issue is that prevents me from generating an ipa with everything up to date.

    Hello,
Welcome to our Microsoft Q&A platform!

Visual Studio 2019 (16.11.3) has fixed this issue, you could update your VS.
In addition, you could have a try to connect your iphone with Mac and select this device to archive.
