I built out several standalone domain based file servers but only 1 is getting flood of logon failed. All server is using disablestrictnamechecking = 1 and its own alias. All three have Windows Search installed with default setting.

One server keeps on showing logon failured for the machine account. Upon closer inspection, i see searchindexer accessing \server1\PIPE\srvsvc Logon failed. None of other server is seeing this. Disabling Windows Search service stops the error.

    Hi there,

SearchIndexer.exe is the Windows service that handles indexing of your files for Windows Search, which fuels the file search engine built into Windows that powers everything from the Start Menu search box to Windows Explorer, and even the Libraries feature. I suspect there might be a corruption in indexing the System, you can try indexing the Pc again and run SFC & DISM commands.
